Christ the King Scouts carry the statue of Our Lady for the Rosary Procession, led by visiting priest Fr. Dennis McDonald.

If a passerby happened to allow his eyes to travel across I-70 to the the acreage surrounding the large church in Watkins, he would have been treated to the sight of high school students out enjoying an extra recess with the grade schoolers- Our Lady Help of Christians Academy was enjoying its celebrations of the Feast of the Holy Rosary.

The school began celebrating the feast by giving glory to God with a high Mass sung by the upper school choir, having the kyriale directed by alumnus Joseph Eddy and the organ accompaniment by Mr. Cheng. Following Mass the celebration continued with breakfast burritos supplied by parent volunteers, ensuring the students enjoyed the feast day on a full stomach.

During breakfast the upper school students were visited by the parish's first prior and principle of our school for over a decade, Fr. Dennis McDonald. Many students left their breakfast to greet Fr. McDonald, who was delighted to see his former pupils and hear updates about the school in the time since he left.

Fr. McDonald concluded the parish mission in the evening, with enrollments in the Militia Immaculatae followed by the Rosary procession in honor of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
